Matilda Klara Curran 40 hours old

Here at last!!

Matilda Klara Curran arrived in our lives at 7:28pm on Friday 25th September 2009, weighing 3.9 kilos (8.6lbs) and measuring 52 cms (20.5 inches)

Add another day to the wait....

Mm, well - I was wrong - we came, we saw, we con....

they told us to come back tomorrow

at least we still have Bridget Jones II, Poirot, Tales of the Unexpected and plenty of chocolate, not to mention half a pineapple!

Day Thirteen of Baby / Outside World Stand Off

The Dictatorship of the Babytariat has well and truly begun and her smallness BabyDaught hasn't even arrived yet! Mammy2be & Daddy2be have spent 13 long days in various states of ..... relaxation, expectation, consternation, anticipation, frustration, relaxation, expectation, consternation, anticipation and so on and so forth.

Herbal teas and remedies, pineapples, red wine, curry have all fallen by the wayside as we come to it at last - we go to the hospital tomorrow and won't come home without baby.

41 weeks

Week 41 - Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th

Getting in shape for Baby :D

Occupying our time ....baby is 2 days late

So still waiting, we went to the cinema last night; a German comedy called "Horst Schlämmer" - nice distraction, funny enough. This morning we went for coffee and shopping in a market in Prenzlauer Berg - the hip suburb for 30-somethings with kids (actually you're not allowed in without children or at least a noticeable bump - the penalty for breaking this rule when you are of child-bearing age is you are deemed uncool).

10:24am Thursday 10th September 2009

No sign of her yet. I am in 'work' here I finish in 2.5 hours and my phone sits in front of me, it's inert black screen holds potential while butterflies drift in and out of my stomach.

Could have potentially another 12 days of this or another 12 minutes..........

9th of the 9th Oh-Nine

So the ninth of the ninth oh-nine has arrived & baby is still snug inside.

'Tis no matter. Thought baby might want a fancy birthday like her mother who has the 7th of the 7th.

The time is coming up to 9 minutes past 9 o'clock Central European Time on

268 days growing inside Dana's womb, 2 left until the 'Expected Date of Delivery' -what a title for such an important day. I have been trying to impress on belly that an arrival within the next 28 hours would be very auspicious indeed ( 9th of the 9th oh-9) but we'll be very delighted whatever times she decides to appear as long as she's safe & healthy & mother too. Just a matter of waiting now.....

what nice surprises life can put in our path if we take the time to look around :)
